It is an 82 FXR. When bought, the DPO thought it was a touring bike. The saddlebags were so big, they look big on a Guzzi . . . . with a sidecar. So I skinnyized it a bit - narrowed the front turns, rear turns, highway pegs, new more assertive bars, seat change, exhaust, oh - and some new rear works shocks. Can't wait to ride it . . . .
of too much to do, a person needs to make a decision. So I did. It turned summer on me. And I want to ride. And I want to ride my FXR. So, it makes me sad, but, off with the buell -
There isn't THAT much left, but there is some re-fab work that didn't work out, and finish the wiring, and, and, too much to slam together in a hurry. Hell. I got time. So it will happily wait.
Got a few things done - the brake, center stand, pegs some other bolt on stuff and went to lay in the wiring harness I had for it. Well, the guy who painted it did such a good job, made my harness look like dog dodo. I totally stalled. Just couldn't bring myself to start over and wire from scratch - especially with all the deutz wiring plugs involved. So I finally decided to do the best I could with what I had - that getting the bike done, even if it wasn't "perfect" was more important to me than the alternative.
