Well, it's a start for the FXR.

Got some of the "stuff" removed or switched out trying to get this FXR back to what it should be.

The footpeg mounts seem to work swell.

1" forward of stock mid controls on the right side and 1 1/4" ahead on the left.

Who says it's not good to have an extra inch sometimes ?

Next step will be Supertrapp exhaust, probably an S&S carb, Works shocks on the rear, and . . .

New FXR - gotta fix it

If you DON'T know what is wrong with this first picture of an FXR front tire, you might as well skip this post.

Nice 93 bike, only 22K miles.

Only problem was the DPO thought it was for . . . . I don't know.

After riding it home, I could tell why it had that problem.
forwards
windshield
those bars
and some more

My problem is I can't just do it the easy way. Mids - no problem. I just wanted an extra inch of room. There's nothing wrong with having an extra inch sometimes, is there ?
That's a right side peg/brake pedal mount slid forward an inch and out 1/2".
Left side's no problem - will also be forward and out.

Stand by for more about this kit.

Buell on the ground . . . . . . . .

finally.
No. Not 100% done, but close to it and awaiting a couple more parts. Just had to move it to accomplish something else.

The pics do not do the paint any justice.
Thanks again Terry.

Now, to work . . . . . .

Buell parts is parts

Will be updating this post a few times over the next few days.

Rear brake master cylinder reservoir

Stainless steel reservoir. Safety wire mounts to secure the top.
Off to the right is the inline oil filter I am trying on this one.

I made an aluminum top first, then thought about the dis-similar metal electrolysis and went stainless.

Rear brake - done.

When I mocked the rear fender, it seemed all good. When I got it back after painting it seemed all fubar. Not the painter's fault - my fault. So I modified and built stuff to get this. Should be fine.

Oil tank plumbing was tight.
Stainless. The endplates were the first things I ever used on my english wheel.

I made the exhaust out of - what else? - stainless tubing, from Burns Stainless. Just some straight pieces and prebent elbows of a couple differant sizes. There are some baffles in the muffler.

WL followed me home from D-port

1946 WL. Yup, that's a 45. I think they call it "skyway blue".

No, I have no interest in a resto. Gonna try to leave it as "barn fresh" as possible.
